Stan’s Rolled Gold

Stan’s latest sealant is made for lower volume road and gravel tires that run at a high PSI. Tested between 35 and 100 PSI, the lower viscosity Rolled Gold sealant claims to seal punctures with less sealant at high pressures. Rolled Gold sealant is available in three sizes, 60, 125, and 50mL, and can be purchased online or at any Stan’s retailer.

Thompson x Blue Lug “Traffic Grey”

Last week, Blue Lug announced their latest collaboration. The Japanese brand partnered with American component company Thomson to release a “Traffic Grey” stem, seatpost clamp, and seatpost. This sleek matte grey celebrates Blue Lug’s 20th anniversary, and while pricey, it’s a nice limited collection that brings together two big names in cycling.

Wolf Tooth Launches New Colored Axles for FOX Forks

Made in the USA / $40 at Wolf Tooth

Designed for FOX’s 36 and 38 forks, Wolf Tooth just announced four new colors for their floating axles. Now available in red, olive, brown, and blue, these are said to be lighter and higher quality than the stock axles.

Rereleased Jamis Komodo

Made in Taiwan / $1,600 at Jamis

Jamis has restocked the KOMODO 29, a $1,599.95 trail hardtail that was revamped in 2020. The Komodo is built around a butted 6061 aluminum frame with the same modern geometry as the DRAGON 29, including a 65-degree head tube angle and 76-degree seat tube angle. The KOMODO pairs that chassis with a 140mm RockShox 35 Silver TK fork, Shimano MT420 four-piston brakes with 180mm rotors, and Stan’s Flow D rims laced to Shimano MT410 hubs. It’s available in four sizes and two colors, Rhino and Riptide, through Jamis retailers or via the brand’s web store for delivery and assembly at a participating shop.

Toothpaste Docker

As they often do, several good conversations started in Cass’s Editor’s Dozen post yesterday. However, it was the subject of toothpaste that stole the show. Perhaps the most interesting topic was “the toothpaste docker,” a double threaded adapter to refill your travel sized toothpaste container from a large one. During that dialogue, I stumbled on this DIY idea that I gotta try: the MYOG toothpaste docker. At any rate, that whole conversation made me wonder: what other little helpful camp gizmo ideas do folks have (toothpaste hacks or otherwise)? Leave a note in the conversation below…

Events Starting Soon

What to watch this weekend and bikepacking events starting soon…

North Wales 400

Designed as a training ride for the Highland Trail 550, the North Wales 400 is a challenging singletrack-heavy bikepacking event that starts and finishes in Llandegla Forest. There are nearly 60 riders registered for the 2026 grand depart, which kicked off earlier this morning. Follow their progress live here.

North South Colorado

North South Colorado follows a 600 mile route along the Front Range of Colorado. Beginning in Fort Collins and ending in Trinidad, the route takes you up and over many passes, including scenic Rollins Pass and Cordova Pass, both topping out over 11,000 feet. There are 35 riders registered for live tracking, and this year’s grand depart kicks off at 7:30 a.m. local time. Follow along live here.

The Log Driver’s Waltz

The Log Driver’s Waltz is a challenging route that takes riders to and through the hidden gems of the Ottawa and Gatineau Valleys. With ~9500 meters of steep, relentless climbing over 805 kilometers, the route can sap the energy from even the strongest legs. This year’s grand depart starts tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. local time. Follow along here.

Badlands

The Badlands is a non-stop, unsupported gravel challenge along the edge of Europe. There are well over 300 riders participating in the 2026 grand depart, which starts from Granada, Spain, on Sunday morning. Follow the race along live here.

Nic Morales: Caminos del Sol, Spain

Just back from MADE, I found a large pile of leaves on my porch and was reminded that we don’t have much of summer left. While that’s a relatively welcome sight after all the heat, each and every season is worth savoring. So, to squeeze out the final bits of the hot season, a jaunt through my ancestral homeland sounds nice. Caminos del Sol looks like it would fit the bill and give me exactly the kind of finish I’d need.
