From Cyber Cycles in Germany comes the Hammerhorst Handlebar—a one-piece titanium bar and stem combination. Drawing inspiration from Bill Grove’s original hammerhead handlebar system, the Hammerhorst is a modern take on the bar/stem combo. According to Christian Thomas, founder of Cyber Cycles, “The challenge was to make sure the wider handlebars we’re used to today could be attached to the stem in a stable and lightweight way. It quickly became clear that this could only be achieved with titanium. The stem is pretty complex, and it’s all printed from one piece and welded to the handlebars.”
Offered in two iterations, the team at Cyber Cycles created a system that is both lightweight and safe while utilizing a one-piece bar and stem attachment system. The single attachment style pictured here is 720mm wide and features a single, narrow clamp at the stem joint. However, a wider 800mm option is on the way, featuring a double clamp system at the stem. The single clamp iteration of the Hammerhorst Handlebar weighs 340 grams, features a 45mm reach and 25mm rise, and will debut at Bespoked Dresden in just over a month. The double clamp iteration is expected to be released closer to the end of the year. Pricing for these titanium bars has yet to be determined, and ongoing tariff difficulties have only made things more challenging for small producers in Europe, such as Cyber Cycles.
