Six years after the original Mason InSearchOf (ISO) was released, every detail has been re-examined and updated to take form as the Mason ISO2. Find everything you need to know here…
The Mason InSearchOf, or ISO for short, was originally released in 2018 at The Cycle Show in Birmingham, England. It was positioned as Mason’s ultimate steel adventure bike, and its capabilities have been proven by bikepackers and ultra-endurance athletes the world over, including Josh Ibbett, Angus Young, and Weronika Szalas. Over the last six years, the Mason team have taken a good look at the ISO, finding areas to improve, and they’re finally ready to announce the next generation of ISO, the ISO2!
The Mason ISO2 borrows a lot of what the original ISO offered, including a custom-formed, progressive-butted Dedacciai Zero and Reynolds 853 steel frame, the choice of 29″ or 27.5″ wheels, clearance for 29 x 2.6” or 27.5 x 2.9” tires, and suspension-corrected geometry that pairs with 100mm travel forks. It features boost hub spacing, a Mason Shutter load-bearing fender, an optional MASON Condenser direct-mount rack, and, as always, it’s still hand-built in Italy.

Updates include MASON-designed CNC dropouts and UDH compatibility, a new T47 bottom bracket with outboard bearings for improved durability and cable/dropper routing, and the frame sees revised cable routing throughout. The ISO2 now features top tube bosses for bolt-on bags, the same redesigned MASON HotShoe2 carbon fork that is specced on the new Mason Macro, and two fresh color options: GrigioTecno and FilterYellow. The Mason ISO2 is still offered in five size options, all sporting a 69° head tube angle (70° on the 58cm) and 74° seat tube angle. Dig into the complete geo chart below.

Mason put together a very informative overview video that goes over every detail of the new ISO2. Watch it below:
The ISO2 is being offered in two of the most popular color options in the Mason palette: FilterYellow offers a vivid mustardy look, while GrigioTecno is an industrial blueish-grey. Frames receive an anti-corrosion treatment inside and out before painting, and anniversary “Decade of Details” graphics finish the look. Some sizes/colors are in stock now and can ship out in two weeks, and others are available for pre-order with an expected delivery time in April.
