Handmade by Giorgio at Montanus, the new Jolly Rolly Hip Pack uses a roll-top closure, wide padded hip straps, and is available in three X-Pac colorways. Find all the details here…
Avid bikepackers, filmmakers, and photographers Francesco and Giorgio of Montanus recently started designing and sewing some small items for their web store. They’ve offered key clips and small zippered pouches, but their latest product is a serious step up. The new Montanus Jolly Rolly Hip Pack is designed and sewn by Giorgio in Italy and is packed with features and clever details that make it handy for big day rides and bikepacking.
The Jolly Rolly Hip Pack features a roll-top main closure with an aluminum G-hook buckle, a zippered interior pocket, a zippered exterior stretch pocket, and a bungee lace-up on the base for lashing on lightweight items. The bag is packed with small details, including fold-away hip straps for use as a shoulder bag, a rear-facing daisy chain for a blinky light, a lash loop on the right hip strap, and a webbing clip-on hip strap that doubles as a shoulder strap.
The Jolly Rolly Hip Pack is available in three colors: X-Pac RX30 in Cayenne or Coyote, and X-Pac X11 Organic Cotton in Storm Grey. There are side compression straps, and the zippers use a Dyneema cord. Although the Jolly Rolly isn’t waterproof, given its construction, materials, and finished seams, it’s likely highly weather-resistant and a solid option for carrying a camera in.
The Jolly Rolly costs €99 (~$120 USD) and is available now through MontanusWild.com.
