Teased at the MADE bike show this summer, the new Moots Scrambler is a drop-bar mountain bike designed around a handcrafted titanium frame, 29 x 2.4″ tires, and 100mm of front suspension. Learn more about this limited edition bike here…

At the MADE bike show earlier this year, we were the first to get a special look at a new drop-bar adventure bike from Moots that was going to make its debut at the Chris King open house. At the time, it was all very hush-hush to avoid spoiling the big unveiling, but Moots is finally ready to start taking orders. The new Moots Scrambler is, as Moots puts it, “a direct descendant of the Moots Routt ESC and the Baxter before it.”

The Scrambler is a titanium drop-bar mountain bike that’s designed around 29 x 2.4″ tires and a 100mm travel RockShox SID SL fork. It borrows a tubeset similar to the Moots Routt 45 for all-day comfort, the double-butted titanium front triangle of the Moots MXC, and Moots’ iconic wishbone seat stay shape.

The Moots Scrambler makes it easy to haul gear and water thanks to three water bottle mounts inside the main triangle, downtube bosses, top tube bosses, and additional mounts under the top tube for bolt-on framebags. There are rear rack mounts for loaded riding, as well as a dropper post port for internal dropper routing, and the stock Shimano GRX lever on the left side can be used to actuate the dropper.

The Scrambler is offered in four sizes (SM-XL), and each sports a 70° head tube angle, a ~74° seat tube angle, 444mm chainstays, and a 70mm bottom bracket drop. At first glance, it leans further toward the gravel spectrum compared to the Chumba Yaupon or Viral Wanderer we tested, but it looks similar to the Cotic Cascade or Tumbleweed Stargazer. It should make a solid platform for riding a variety of surfaces.
