Muc-off’s new Punk Powder bike wash is plastic-free, packaged in minimal, biodegradable packets, and claims a 92% reduction in waste over other products, and they made a pretty wild video to launch it. Take a look here…

I’m not really one to use purpose-made bike wash soap, but I’ve gotta admit, Muc-off’s new Punk Powder campaign is pretty clever. And the product itself deserves a mention, using a few innovations other industries should take note of. Essentially, Punk Powder is a refill packet that eliminates the need to buy a new bottle. Better yet, Muc-off claims it’s made of only readily biodegradable ingredients, 75% of which are plant-based. The product comes in 30g powder packets, which mix up 1 liter of cleaner by simply adding water. According to Muc-off, Punk Powder uses 92% less packaging than the equivalent 2 liters of regular bike cleaner. Going even further, the packaging is 100% plastic and petroleum-free and is made from more than 50% renewable raw materials, with vegetable-based inks used for printing. Each sachet is compostable and certified to EN 13432 standard. And, last but not least, the video ad is pretty funny:
