It appears that event organizer Jefe Branham’s suspicions about this year’s Colorado Trail Race conditions were correct—the fastest riders blasted through the 500-mile route. Yesterday, Nolan Van Harte won the overall race with a time of 4 days, 11 hours, and 24 minutes, which means Timon Fish’s 2023 record time of 3 days, 16 hours, and 13 minutes still stands. Nolan was followed by Cade Reichenberger about 7 hours later, and then Matt Annabel, who had planned to yo-yo the route back south, but decided to call it early.

Just three hours behind Matt was Nicolette Jones, who took fourth place overall and was the first woman to finish the 2025 CTR. Nicolette is no stranger to the route. She has biked, hiked, and skied the Colorado Trail, and was the first woman to finish last year’s Colorado Trail Race with a time of 5 days, 12 hours, and 19 minutes. Nicolette finished shortly after 3:00 a.m. this morning at Waterton Canyon with a time of 4 days, 23 hours, and 35 minutes, making her the fastest woman on the CTR ever with a new northbound women’s record.

According to John Edward O’Malley, who grabbed some photos of Nicolette at the finish, the fastest riders looked surprisingly fresh considering what they just accomplished, commenting on how minimal their kits were and how the smoke was likely one of the biggest challenges this year. Congrats to everyone who has finished so far, and good luck to all the riders still out on the route! Head over to the event page to follow along live.
