Nordest Cycles recently unveiled the third iteration of their Super Albarda frameset, which boasts updated geometry, SRAM UDH compatibility, internal dropper routing, and fresh colors. Citing inspiration from bikepackers and their unique needs, founder Pedro Jerónimo calls the Nordest Super Albarda 3 a “gravel/anything bike designed to go to the end of the world (and come back in one piece).”
Departing from previous versions, the third Super Albarda borrows mountain bike geometry and is now optimized for a short 50mm stem. The frame is made from double-butted 4130 CrMo steel and also sports a 68mm BSA bottom bracket shell, 12 x 142mm thru-axle rear hub, 27.2mm seatpost with 29.8mm clamp, a TR44 steerer tube (ZS44/ZS44 or ZS44/EC44), room for 650B x 2.2″ or 700C x 50mm tires, and compatibility with up to a 46T single chainring or 50/34T double. There are mounts above and below the downtube, on the seatube, and on the top tube. It’s available in three sizes: medium, medium-large, and large. A medium frame weighs in at 2,490 grams, and it’s offered in Yellow Mustard Gloss or Black Gloss.
The Nordest Super Albarda 3 is being sold as a frame only or as a kit with a steel or carbon fork. The frame-only option is currently on pre-sale for €599 ($660), the steel frameset is €749 ($820), and the steel frame with carbon fork kit costs €899 ($985). All discounted pre-sale prices include EU shipping. Delivery is expected around January 2025.
