Just released, the new OneUp XC Clip Pedals were designed with XC and racing in mind, and they’re claimed to be the thinnest dual-sided clipless MTB pedals on the market. Find all the essential details on the XC Clip Pedals here…
Is it just me, or are component manufacturers broadening their product breadth? It seems like each week there’s another brand entering a new segment, which hopefully means good things for the industry. The latest company to switch up its offerings is OneUp Components, based in British Columbia, Canada, with the new XC Clip Pedals.
The XC Clip Pedals aren’t the brand’s first clipless pedal, but they are their first XC pedal, which means they weigh less and are much smaller than their larger Clip Pedals. In fact, OneUp claims the new XC Clip Pedals are the thinnest dual-sided MTB clips on the market, measuring 26.8mm at the binding and 14.4mm at the body. They are SPD compatible, so you can use the Shimano cleats you already own, and they provide 5 degrees of float with a release angle of 12 degrees.
OneUp’s XC Clips feature IGUS bushings and two cartridge bearings on a chromoly axle, all protected by a double-axle seal. They share a rebuild kit with both their Wave and Clip Pedals. A pedal bearing nut tool is included with every pair of pedals to make at-home service even easier. There’s also a wide range of release-tension adjustability that is secure enough for racers yet forgiving enough for beginners, with an indicator to easily match the tension across all four bindings.
