Our go-to route planning and mapping application, Ride with GPS, just released a handy new tool that makes it easier than ever to find the best routes and rides in a specific area. Learn all about the new Inspect Tool here…

Ride with GPS (RWGPS) is one of our favourite tools for route planning, mapping, and navigation. It has a great user interface on both laptops and mobile devices, and they’ve continuously added features and updates to make their application even better. The latest addition is the Inspect Tool, which can help users quickly discover other routes and rides in a specific area, pulling data from their community-sourced route library and the global heatmap and allowing you to use filters to find the kind of route you’re after.

Inspect Tool

By simply long-pressing anywhere on the map using your iOS or Android device, the Inspect Tool quickly delivers popular route options for you to explore. From there, there are options to get more specific, including terrain type, distance, elevation, and whether or not you want a loop or out-and-back. We’ve played around with the new feature already, and it seems useful for exploring new areas and making on-the-fly route changes.

The RWGPS Inspect Tool is live now, so go give it a shot, then head to RideWithGPS.com for the full scoop.
