Designed as the ultimate “dirt bike” for California’s Bay Area, the new Slug Earthling features a titanium frame, clearance for 29 x 2.2″ tires, and a 3D-printed yoke. It’s available in seven sizes to fit a wide range of riders. Find everything you need to know here…

San Francisco’s Slug Bicycles was founded in 2020 by Steven Keyes, who has spent 15 years working in e-commerce, cycling, and outdoor industries. He partnered with Byron Lee, an industrial designer and 3D-printing wizard who works with some of the top brands in the sports and outdoor industries. Steven and Byron have a strong connection to California’s Bay Area and have embraced the region’s diversity and uniqueness into the Slug brand. Their motto, “Long, Slow Days,” is about being comfortable, riding at your own pace, and enjoying the ride… even if that means moving as slow as a slug.

Earlier this year, Slug released a new titanium hardtail, titanium handlebars, and an updated website. Their second production bike model is a titanium gravel/dirt bike that could easily outrun a slug, if that’s what you’re into. As Slug puts it, the new Earthling “delivers in the dirt, and honors the path to it. It’s all possible.”

The Earthling is made in Taiwan from premium 3Al-2.5V titanium, has an in-house designed 3D-printed (selective laser melting) titanium yoke, and clearance for 700 x 58mm (2.2″) tires. It sports a SRAM UDH rear dropout, a 27.2mm seatpost, a flat-mount brake, and a 68mm BSA threaded bottom bracket. The Earthling has internal dropper post routing, a 12mm rear thru-axle, fits a 46T chainring, and has rear rack mounts, two standard bottle mounts, and additional bosses under the downtube. Home mechanics and tinkerers will appreciate external cable routing and a standard EC34/EC44 tapered headtube.

The Earthling is available in seven sizes from 50cm to 62cm. All seven sport a 74° seat tube angle, 71° head tube angle, 74mm bottom bracket drop, and sporty 435mm chainstays. Dig into the complete geo chart below.
