The Berzerk from our friends at Berlin-based Vetra Bikes (@vetrabikes) is an all-purpose adventure bike with clearance for 27.5 x 2.35″ tires that’s built to take riders absolutely anywhere, from shreddy commutes to cross-continent tours. Its guiding philosophy is keeping riding as nimble as possible without sacrificing comfort, even on the longest of rides. It features a 70º headtube angle, 435mm chainstays, and a 60mm BB drop, favoring a slightly shorter reach on the flat section of the bar to keep the body position flowy while still being able to throw the bike around on small kickers and curbs.

The custom build featured here is sporting Vetra’s “The Devil” bars, an MTB flat bar with a bullhorn section to give the rider two main reach positions—the flat being the primary and the horns the secondary—to keep it fast and slightly more tucked through long straightaways. This configuration is meant to be fun on the flats and business on the horns.

The Berzerk is designed to accommodate a variety of packing configurations. This build features a lightweight bikepacking setup with Vetra’s custom Goblin racks, which are designed for rugged terrain and feature a tubular profile design at the back to minimize sway. Inspired by the multicage design, the Goblin rack prioritizes simplicity by giving your small bags a solid side support and railings to keep the straps in place. It offers a plug-and-play approach that can be adapted to a wide variety of bags and allows you to quickly detach items when you need to leave your bike unattended or roll into your tent at the end of a long day.
