This time, we find them among the stunning formations of Northern Italy and the American Southwest. Take a quick peek at all three below, then keep scrolling to find some related posts from our deep well and a quick form you can use to share a shot from a recent getaway.
Bocchetta di Forcola, Italy

Riding the Trans-Altarezia from Samnaun, Switzerland, to Tirano, Italy. After the long drag up the Umbrail Pass, we were greeted by the first snow of the season dusting the top of the mountains above the Stelvio Pass. We took a moment to enjoy the view and put on some additional layers before tackling the decent down to Lago di Cancano.
Colorado

There’s long been a desire for a dedicated singletrack-heavy mountain bike route from Crested Butte to Gunnison, Colorado, but despite efforts from the Crested Butte Mountain Bike Association, Gunnison Trails, and their land partners, progress on an official route has stalled over the years. The route we pedaled, however, has always been an option, though it’s a little rough around the edges, as Evan Christenson and I discovered on a recent 46-mile overnighter. The beginning and end were fantastic, but the middle—well, it was infested with cow shit and steep trail that badly needed work. At least the views were stunning! Here’s a shot of Evan on day two around the Castles, a formation that was in our sights for most of the trip.
Utah

Snap of the magical morning hour in desert when the sun’s warmth has yet to arrive. We made do with the fire from the stove until the almighty fireball in the sky was doing its thing.
