Idaho

There’s something about rolling out with a group of friends on bikes that instantly puts a smile on your face. Eleven of us left the Greenbelt in Boise with that quiet excitement you get at the beginning of a small adventure—the kind where you don’t really know how things will go, but you know it’ll be worth it. Trips like this aren’t really about the route or the miles. They’re about the people you share them with, the unexpected moments, and the feeling of being out there together. In the end, it was one for the books. Happy Birthday, Chaney!
Lutruwita/Tasmania, Australia

This past weekend saw the inaugural Mind Map bikepacking event on the island of Lutruwita/Tasmania, Australia. Mind Map was born from a desire to bring together the best bits of bikepacking races and events. A choice of three courses (250, 500, and 650 kilometres) took participants on a journey through dry eucalypt forests, ancient temperate rainforests, coastal tracks, and rugged alpine trails. Combined with a grand depart and a finish line party full of smiles, beers, and stories, Mind Map allowed both seasoned racers and first-time bikepackers to enjoy a long weekend of bikes, adventure, and community.

Vast, quiet, and remote, this high-desert landscape offers open roads, expansive views, and solitude. From a distance, it appears to be nothing but sagebrush flats. Once you pedal into the area, however, you will find hidden springs, rugged washes, historic ranches, and some of the darkest night skies around.
Send Us Your Weekend Snapshot
We’ll be selecting three photos per week to feature in Weekend Snapshot. Send yours along for consideration, and if it’s selected, we’ll be in touch! Note: We prefer 3:2 ratio landscape-oriented photos.
