My friend and I had a strong ache to escape the city life for the weekend. We rode 50 kilometers to one of our favourite spots by the sea with the idea to enjoy good food and slow down. We cooked up some pulled tofu wok, caramel pancakes with nutella and strawberries, topped it all off with freshly ground coffee. The weather ended up changing constantly, but our smiles were ever present.

The Arctic Circle Trail, Greenland

After spending the night in a tiny cabin on the Arctic Circle Trail, I came across one of the public canoes. It was great to let my legs rest, while rowing the 20 kilometers to the next cabin. The canoes are free to use for everyone on the trail, but if you’re unlucky, all of them might be located at the opposite end of the lake.

We recently did an overnight winter bikepacking trip as a family in Wombat State Forest. It was incredible, with memories to last a lifetime! It was a short route, but with plenty of mud, gravel, hills, and cold weather, it was just the right size of challenge our 5-year-old and 7-year-old kids. I’m hoping trips like this will kickstart a lifelong love affair with bikes for them!
