Drawing on 40 years of sailcloth laminate design and constructed with a three-layer structure, hyperTEC is a new family of fabrics from X-Pac created to offer an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and reduced stretch. Learn more about X-Pac hyperTEC here…
Our friends at Rockgeist recently clued us in to an upcoming fabric launch from X-Pac®, a Dimension-Polyant brand, and today, the new hyperTEC™ family of fabrics has officially launched. According to X-Pac, the new hyperTEC™ fabrics are made with high-modulus fibers and technical constructions uncommon in traditional woven goods. They are created using a 100% Ultra-PE fabe fabric, an Ultra-PE X-Ply reinforcement mid-layer, and a waterproof polyester backing film similar to their other fabrics.
The new Ultra-PE face fabric is said to offer maximum strength with minimal material and weight, as well as reduced stretch under load. It’s available in three weights: UX10, UX10 sT, and UX20 sT. Here are descriptions of each, straight from X-Pac®:
At 85g/m², UX10 delivers a balance of durability and weight, offering versatile performance for packs across a broad range of applications. At 116g/m², UX10 sT is the standard for lightweight performance, combining optimized structure, durability, and weight efficiency into a single construction built to handle the widest range of demanding applications. At 161g/m², UX20 sT is engineered for maximum strength and load-bearing performance; this hyper-light laminate excels in high-stress applications where structural integrity is critical, without compromising long-term abrasion durability.
We’re excited to see what bag makers get their hands on X-Pac® hyperTEC™ first. Until then, you can learn more about it at X-Pac.com.
