According to Zpacks, the newly released Plex Solo Lite is the lightest fully featured one-person tent in the world, complete with a Dyneema construction, tiny pack size, and single trekking pole-style setup. Check it out here…

Zpacks is back again with yet another “lightest in the world” tent option for folks looking to cut their sleep system weight down without sacrificing performance or comfort. The new Zpacks Plex Solo Lite shares the exact dimensions as their standard Plex Solo Tent but shaves a whopping 40 grams with smaller diameter guylines (1.3mm instead of 2mm) and by using a .75 oz/square yard DCF floor material instead of the 1.0 oz DCF used with their standard tents. Without the required stakes and pole, it weighs a mere 334 grams (11.8 oz).

Zpacks Plex Solo Lite uses a single 52″ (132cm) trekking pole or tent pole and a minimum of six stakes, but 10 are recommended for windy conditions. The exterior doors overlap to provide a small amount of ventilation, and there are no zippers that could potentially fail over time. They can be opened independently for great views or closed with custom metal hooks for privacy/weather. The interior mesh has a rainbow zipper, which enables easy entry regardless of which storm door is closed and drops inside the tent when fully open.

The tent has a solid, sewn-in 8″ (20.3 cm) tall bathtub floor. The bathtub floor is 38″ (97 cm) wide at the center and tapers to 28″ (71 cm) at the head and foot. The floor is 7.5 feet (2.3 meters) long. To keep the weight as low as possible, the Plex Solo Lite doesn’t have a built-in internal pocket. It packs down to 4.5″ x 11″ (11.5 x 28 cm) and comes finished with taped seams. The stakes and pole are not included in the price/weight.

The Zpacks Plex Solo Lite comes in three color options: blue, olive drab, and white, and it costs $599 USD. The required tent pole costs $34.95 and adds 80 grams (2.8 oz). Zpacks also has a variety of stakes available to purchase. Head over to Zpacks.com to see more.
