The Bearclaw Thunderhawk is a do-it-all titanium gravel bike with clearance for 29 x 2.0″ tires, lots of mounting points, and geometry suited for a wide range of conditions and riding styles. Bearclaw just announced an updated version with SRAM UDH, revised geo, and more…
The original Bearclaw Thunderhawk was released over six years ago, positioned as a performance monstercross gravel bike with big tire clearance, a smooth-riding titanium frame, and options for 700c and 650b wheel setups. According to Bearclaw Bicycle Co.’s founder, Jason Lowetz, “The Thunderhawk is the ultimate shred-venture, bikepacking bicycle, with looks that could kill. It’s proven to be the answer for people who want a drop-bar bike capable of exiting the pavement and riding in the grass, dirt, rocks, sand, and mud. With its big tire clearance, endurance road geometry, lightweight yet durable Ti frame, 650b or 700c wheel option, and multiple cage/rack mounts, it’s the best thing to happen to people since the 1969 Arctic Cat Panther.”
Bearclaw teased an updated Thunderhawk last fall, and we’re excited to see it finally available. So, what’s new? The latest Thunderhawk maintains much of what we liked about the original but now features a SRAM Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH), engraved logos, three sets of triple-pack mounts, and updated geometry/sizing. The Thunderhawk maintains a 3AL-2.5V double-butted titanium frame, 6AL-4V billet HT, BB, drops, and chainstay plate, internal cable routing, a 68mm BSA bottom bracket, and 12mm thru-axles. It has clearance for 700 x 50mm (29 x 2.0″) or 27.5 × 2.35″ tires, rack and fender mounts, and can be purchased with or without their Ti Gravel Fork or Blitzen Gravel fork.
