As if riding the Colorado Trail in both directions, back to back, with his wife Katie last year wasn’t enough! On July 19th, Andrew Strempke set off to bag another yo-yo on the Colorado Trail, from Denver to Durango and back again with over 1,000-miles of tough Colorado singletrack. He set out with a goal to beat their 2020 time of 16 days, 14 hours, 20 minutes, which was the first official yo-yo of the route, and already an impressively fast time…
On this attempt, Strempke completed the yo-yo in under 14 days, with an incredible time of just 13 days, 10 hours, 50 minutes, to be exact (13d:10h:50m). Andrew tackled the route aboard his new singlespeed Chumba Sendero, the same bike he rode to a first-place finish at this year’s Pinyons and Pines event in Arizona.
