Last year, ultra-endurance cyclist Pete Basinger started a non-profit mountain bike club for Moab kids. As Pete put it, “One thing a lot of people don’t realize about Moab is that there are a lot of low income families here.” Although Moab is known around the world as a mountain biking destination many working local families have limited opportunities to ride bikes here. The result is Moab Youth Cycling, a 501 (3)(c) with a mission to get local Moab kids on mountain bikes. Moab Youth Cycling provides transportation, instruction, scholarships, loaner bikes and an inclusive non-competitive atmosphere where kids can have fun and experience the outdoors around Moab. Leading up to Giving Tuesday (November 30), MYC is asking for donations to help them grow the program so they can get more kids on bikes! Learn more in the video below and donate here.
