The Reanimator Bike Tour is a 1,150-mile ride from Salt Lake City, Utah, to Albuquerque, New Mexico, facilitating free community sewing events along the way. Learn more about the two paid residency positions they’re looking to fill here…

Reanimator is a group based out of Salt Lake City, Utah, advocating for sewing and bicycles as powerful tools for self-sufficiency. For the last few years, they’ve been putting on public sewing repair events at which attendees learn to make and repair their own clothing and gear.

For 2023, Reanimator has teamed up with we.grow.eco on an interesting new project. This April, they will set off on a 1,100-mile off-road bike tour from Salt Lake City to Albuquerque. They’ll be bringing a sewing machine with to facilitate sewing repair events in the communities they pass through along the way.

Want to get involved? Two individuals will receive a paid opportunity to develop sewing repair skills while on a bicycle tour—in the form of a Sewing Repair Technician Residency. They have events planned for Helper, Moab, Telluride, Salida, Taos, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque, and the application is now open for the residency program.
