Folks who want to design routes with their friends will be excited to hear that Ride with GPS’s latest function allows users to seamlessly co-create routes. The best part? It’s free for all users! Learn more about the new Collaborative Route Planning feature here…
If you’ve ever tried to plan a bikepacking route with friends, you’ve likely experienced the struggles of managing a single Ride with GPS (RWGPS) route or taking feedback from friends to create the best possible version. Until today, there hasn’t been a dedicated feature to allow multiple users to co-design RWGPS routes.
The new Collaborative Route Planning feature is the first of its kind, bringing discussion and route editing into one place. Multiple users can now contribute directly on the route page, with changes and notes saved in a shared space, making the planning process more collaborative, inclusive, and dynamic.
- Seamless Collaboration: Route owners can invite others to edit and enhance routes, fostering a communal approach to ride planning.
- Real-Time Updates: Saved changes appear instantly for all collaborators, keeping the route up-to-date in real-time.
- Enhanced Communication: Collaborators can leave notes and feedback right where it matters—on the route itself—making decisions faster and easier.
- Restore Previous Route Versions: Enjoy worry-free editing with the ability to restore previous versions of your route without fear of losing your painstaking edits.
Key Features of Collaborative Route Planning:
“Our goal has always been to make cycling more accessible and enjoyable,” said Kevin Prentice, business operations director at Ride with GPS. “We love planning and riding with friends—but juggling texts, screenshots, and scattered feedback was never ideal. Collaborative Route Planning changes that. It brings everything into one place, so anyone can plan smarter, faster, and enjoy better rides, together.”
This feature is now available to all Ride with GPS users. To learn more about Collaborative Route Planning and how to get started, head to RidewithGPS.com.
