Just released, the new Veloci Cage Wednesday Front Rack is an interesting Chromoly steel front rack with two sets of parallel leg struts that double as cargo cages, plus a top platform for bags, baskets, and gear. Take a closer look here…
Using a similar approach as the Hunter Cycles Cargo Rack Logan reviewed, the new Veloci Cage Wednesday Front Rack blends cargo cages and a rack into one clever package. The two vertical leg struts on each side of the rack double as cargo cages, and Veloci even includes removable cage feet for both sides.
The Veloci Cage Wednesday Front Rack is made in Taiwan from 4130 Chromoly steel. There are strap keepers welded onto the legs to make packing easier, and the 265 x 160mm top platform is there for bags, gear, baskets, and whatever else you need to haul. It appears to be a three-piece design, so when disassembled, it should pack quite flat for travel.
There are two sizes. The medium has a 365mm height and is for 26″ and 27.5″ wheels; the large has a 390mm height and is for 29″ setups. It has a maximum load of 33 pounds (15 kilograms) and weighs 660 grams (1.4 pounds) without the cargo feet, and 798 grams (1.7 pounds) with them. There’s also a front light tab up front for bolt-on lights.
The Veloci Cage Wednesday Front Rack is available in black or silver and costs $145 USD, excluding import duties, taxes, or customs fees. Veloci is working on updating stock, but you can check it out at VelociCycle.com to learn more until it’s officially available.
