Minnesota, USA

Sixty miles round trip from South Minneapolis to Carver Park Reserve on our e-converted Yuba Supercargo. What a fantastic spot just west of the city, along mostly gravel rails-to-trails paths. Spotted many interesting birds (at least to us): wood ducks, cranes, bobolinks, sparrows of all types, bluebirds, chickadees, turkeys, cowbirds, and more. The nice thing about bike-in campsites is that they are highly sociable. Shared a morning fire with fellow bike campers and traded adventure stories. Could not have asked for a better first S24O with my son!
Virginia, USA

This weekend was a combination of firsts and goodbyes. For the first time, I completed a BIKEPACKING.com route, the Sky Meadows Overnighter. The state park is peaceful and beautiful in the Virginia countryside, where one can actually see the stars. I usually ride solo, but for the first time, I rode with some fellow bikepackers I met along the way. Shout out to Danny and Ross! Unfortunately, this is also my last bikepacking trip in Virginia for a while. My temporary work assignment ends in a couple of weeks, and I will move back across the country. So, I said goodbye to the rolling hills and greenery, the abundant gravel roads, and new friends in the most satisfying way I could: from a bike.

Bialetti ride with friends. On a sunny Saturday, a bunch of us met up, took our bikes out to the forest, and stopped halfway for a coffee break. Each one of us brought a Bialetti and a gas stove. I’m enjoying the off-bike moments the most these days.
