This year, four members of the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF) decided to take on the 400+ mile Smoke’n’Fire bikepacking route in Idaho—making them the first athletes with permanent physical disabilities to attempt the route. Hosted by the city of Fayetteville, the 2020 Arkansas High Country Race brought in 20 riders, had a 65% scratch rate, and several new course records were set. Earlier this year, Samuel Lalande-Markon and Félix-Antoine Tremblay made the first bicycle crossing of the Route Blanche on the Lower North Shore of Quebec. On December 26th, four intrepid women (on two cargo bikes!) set out from Edinburgh, Scotland and rode 1,000 kilometers (self-supported) to Copenhagen before the New Year.
