In Ryan “Kodak” Brown’s latest video, he and Ilse head to Southeast Spain to ride the 700-kilometer Montañas Vacías route as Ilse’s first bikepacking trip. Watch the stunning hour-long video they put together here, which serves as an excellent overview of what you can expect from the route…
Created by Ernesto Pastor, the 700-kilometer Montañas Vacías route is designed as an introduction to bikepacking in the Serranía Celtibérica in Southeast Spain. The route is brimming with cultural points of interest and stunning views, including medieval villages, natural parks, high plateaux, and infinite pine forests. It’s also one of the least densely populated places in Europe, so resupply points are limited, and solitude is plentiful.
Ryan “Kodak” Brown’s latest video documents what would become Ilse’s first bikepacking trip. Before the trip, she had mostly stuck to flat commutes in Belgium, but during their ride, they were challenged with bike-destroying mud, snow, and some of the most remote areas in Spain, and they even ran out of food at times. Watch the hour-long video Ryan put together from their trip above.
