This week, we’re off to the high country for our 183rd consecutive Monday morning installment of Weekend Snapshot, sharing scenes from roads and tracks in Idaho, Italy, and Colorado in color and black and white. Start your day with a quick look back at what a trio of readers were up to in their recent time away, followed by some related routes for inspiration and a short form you can use to submit a photo from one of your bikepacking adventures.
Italian Dolomites

By Ethan Washam
For the past week, I’ve been soaking up the beauty (and pain) of the Trans-Dolomiti route. With cappuccinos every morning, pizza in every town, and small samples of singletrack, it’s been a real treat. For those single-speed curious, I wouldn’t recommend it, or at least go lighter than a 32×20. Otherwise, settle in for pushing a bike.
Sun Valley, Idaho

By Cody Wratten
A trip through the Sawtooth range punctuated by hot springs, rolling gravel roads, and good friends.
Crested Butte, Colorado

By Lucas Winzenburg
A quick phone snap from a cruise with my dad in beautiful Crested Butte, my favorite Colorado mountain town. After years of talking about it, we’ve finally started a tradition of yearly getaways to ride and hike together. He’s on his Hudski Doggler, a new favorite bike he’s pedaled at least 15,000 miles since picking it up a couple of years ago!
Send Us Your Weekend Snapshot
We’ll be selecting three photos per week to feature in Weekend Snapshot. Send yours along for consideration, and if it’s selected, we’ll be in touch! Note: We prefer 3:2 ratio landscape-oriented photos.
