FRANKENBAG – A Finn Skogen Film (video)

In his latest film, Finn Skogen discovers a new purpose for an old, worn-out jacket during a bikepacking ride in Montana. With the inventive touch of Buck Products, Finn’s once-forgotten anorak is transformed, finding a new lease on life and embracing a fresh role on the trail. Watch “Frankenbag” here.

In this rendition of the classic Frankenstein tale, the creature’s transformation is manifested via the protagonist, Finn Skogen. Finn is inspired by an aging and sometimes neglected jacket who’s “special purpose” is reimagined while traveling on a bikepacking adventure in Montana. Together with the creative and tactile mind of Buck Products, Finn’s once retired anorak takes on a new form to live a new life.

For those unfamiliar, “Finn Skogen Films” is a beautifully shot series by photographer and cinematographer Chris Paterson, a project that Chris concoted during the COVID-19 lockdown. Each episode documents a bikepacking trip, ski outing, or other backcountry adventure and packs a ton of visual goodness into an ultra-short morsel. Be sure to check out our Rider’s Lens feature where we caught up with Chris to talk about this series and his career shooting award-winning films for Warren Miller and Christopher Nolan…
